Australia leads the way in electrifying mobility by mass retrofits

Even if you are just in the EV conversion game for your own personal project, it might be interesting to learn that Australia is thinking big in terms of EV conversions.

Down under 12 start-ups were selected to participate in the second annual Supercharge Australia Innovation Challenge. The goal is to come up with solutions that help make the transition to fully electric vehicles through a mass retrofit of the existing fleet.

Among the selected start-ups are three companies with a focus on EV conversions of passenger (classic) cars: Jaunt, OZ Electric Vehicles, and REVR (see previous post).

However, the initiative covers the whole spectrum of mobility and transportation, including corporate fleets, marine vessels, mining haul trucks, and buses for public transport.
