CCS is the standard for rapid charging in Europe. It is now open source.

Up to now the complexity of the Combined Charging System (CCS) has delayed its use in EV conversions. But that has now changed. A handful of members of the openinverter forum have written and tested an open source implementation using only about 200€ worth of hardware, including the CCS socket itself.

One member from Finland went on a 5,000 km road trip through 6 countries and was even able to charge on Tesla’s superchargers.

The project is still at an early stage but we should see handy solutions in the next few months.

You will find the details on the openinverter forum.
